Have Faith Class of 2020

Brienna Cooper, Reporter

So excited on the first day of school.

Dear class of 2020, the year we all have been dreaming of what might be stripped from us due to the virus Covid-19. This virus has caused us to be shut up in our homes, and away from groups of people including our family and friends. Our schools are even closed. Now we all know, each one us might have complained about the year because we weren’t given the opportunities to do what we thought we should, but deep down we all want to share the two main things together as a class; Our prom and of course graduation. These are events that we have dreamed about experiencing and if they are lost we will never be able to get those moments back. We want to go to prom, dance around and take thousands of pictures because those are the memories you look back at as an adult. Being at home for the past two weeks has shown us a lot. The main thing is to not take anything for granted because it can be taken away from you in a quick second. We know at this point Covid- 19 is something that should be taken seriously as this pandemic has brought our senior year to a screeching halt. Are you telling me all the hard work we put in for 12 years isn’t going to be celebrated on May 23, 2020? That feeling knowing you may not walk across the stage is devastating. We look to that day because that’s the day we share with each other, but not only just that the day we look back on and tell ourselves we did it. Hearing our families screaming and cheering for us when our names are being called is breathtaking and something we want so desperately to experience. I’m sad and worried because at this point there will be no senior activities, no senior skip day, no class day, no awards day, nothing. Believe it or not, I’m going to miss my teachers who I grew a bond with. The teachers who push me to be great, and the staff who always encourages us to be the best that we can be. I hope this isn’t the way we close out our year. I hope it’s possible for us to get the senior year we dreamed of. All the activities, prom, and most of all graduation. So, let’s continue to have faith seniors, I love the Class of 2020.
